Dr. Ryan Candelora grew up in La Cañada, trained at USC, and opened on Central Avenue in 2006. Dr. Charles Kim, a UCLA graduate who lives in Pasadena, came looking for a practice closer to home. Two dentists who chose Glendale, and a practice built on care that is conservative, thorough and explained.

In their own words, “dental health care” vs. “disease care.”

How the practice works

Health care, not disease care.

Preventive care and education are the keys to good dental health, they say, and the rest of the practice is built around that: thorough exams, clear explanations, and a visit that is as comfortable as it can be made.

  • High standardsComprehensive treatment planning, with restorative and cosmetic dentistry used to reach your best dental health.

The four people ask about most.

Invisalign

Clear, custom-made aligners that shift teeth gradually and come out to eat, brush and floss. The plan is mapped with 3D imaging, then checked at regular visits.

Porcelain Veneers

Thin shells of dental ceramic, custom-made to cover chips, stains, gaps and misshapen teeth. Typically two appointments: a consultation, then preparation and placement.

Teeth Whitening

In the office in a single visit, or at home with custom-made trays and professional-grade gel, with touch-ups between regular visits.

Dental Implants

A small titanium post placed in the jawbone, left to fuse over several months, then an abutment and a custom-made crown. Implant-supported dentures too.

Dental emergencies

A tooth knocked out? Call first, then move fast.

If the tooth goes back into its socket within an hour, there is a chance the tissues will grow to support it again. Should an emergency occur, the doctors will make every effort to see you as soon as possible.

  1. Call the dentist.
  2. Pick the tooth up by the crown and rinse it under warm water. Do not touch the root.
  3. If possible, place it back into its socket. If not, tuck it into the cheek pouch.
  4. If it cannot go in the mouth, keep it in a cup of milk, saliva, or water as a last resort, so it does not dry out.
  5. Get to the dentist, quickly and safely.
